What are the Build an Ant Empire mutation multipliers?
Leaf 1.35x, Bubblegum 1.75x, Candy 2x, Rainbow 2.25x, Petal 3x, Starlight 5x. They are efficiency multipliers applied with Items Shop potions.
This Build an Ant Empire mutations page lists the six efficiency multipliers confirmed for Roblox Place 78490532994307 by Insect Kingdom studio. You apply them with mutation potions from the Items Shop, aimed at an ant you choose. Leaf is 1.35x, Bubblegum 1.75x, Candy 2x, Rainbow 2.25x, Petal 3x, and Starlight 5x. Verified September 30, 2026. Play on Roblox.
A mutation sits on top of the ant you already placed. It does not replace the Queen loop: egg, podium purchase, colony slot, food boxes, Sell, Cash. Whether two mutations can occupy one ant at the same time is TBA. Plan for a single live mutation until you test a cheap potion and watch the result. Removal is a separate $100K potion, not a guess about stacking.
| Mutation | Efficiency | Potion price (Items Shop) |
|---|---|---|
| Leaf | 1.35x | $1M |
| Bubblegum | 1.75x | $5M |
| Candy | 2x | $50B |
| Rainbow | 2.25x | $100B |
| Petal | 3x | $500T |
| Starlight | 5x | $5.1Qi |

Mutation potions are Items Shop goods. The shop sits in the center of the map. Each purchase is one use: you buy the potion, then apply it to a specific ant. Notes describe the apply step as manual, so a potion in your inventory has not changed a worker until you target one. Speed jellies from the same shop are a different item — they buff movement for a few minutes and do not write a mutation.
The six names above are the full mutation list in the current notes. There is no confirmed weather roll, no confirmed hatch mutation, and no confirmed fail chance on the potion itself. If the apply button can miss, that rate is TBA. Watch the ant’s label after you confirm. Prices for every shop row, jellies included: items.

Each mutation is an efficiency multiplier: Leaf 1.35x through Starlight 5x. Public notes tie that multiplier to how valuable the ant’s work is, on top of rarity. They do not publish a separate formula for “food per second” versus “Cash per box.” After you apply a potion, compare one Sell trip before and after on the same ant. That gap is your real number for this version.
Egg Luck and Egg Rolls change future eggs and stay cheap at the start. A mutation changes one ant you already own, at a price that jumps by orders of magnitude. Early Cash belongs on the Queen side until a keeper is worth locking in. Buy order: upgrades. How the egg reaches the slot: eggs.
Read the ladder as relative efficiency, not as a Cash-per-minute promise. Starlight at 5x is a little under four times Leaf at 1.35x (5 ÷ 1.35 ≈ 3.7), and the potion price between them is $1M versus $5.1Qi. The multiplier grows slowly. The price does not. That is why the notes tell you to put high potions on high-rarity ants and to finish basic colony upgrades first.
Shop suffixes follow the usual Roblox ladder: K thousand, M million, B billion, T trillion, Qa quadrillion, Qi quintillion. If a button on your client uses a different suffix, trust the button. The $5.1Qi Starlight figure is printed with the decimal — do not round it to 5Qi when you are saving.

| From | To | Efficiency step | Potion price step |
|---|---|---|---|
| None | Leaf | ×1.35 | $1M |
| Leaf | Bubblegum | 1.35x → 1.75x | $1M → $5M |
| Bubblegum | Candy | 1.75x → 2x | $5M → $50B |
| Candy | Rainbow | 2x → 2.25x | $50B → $100B |
| Rainbow | Petal | 2.25x → 3x | $100B → $500T |
| Petal | Starlight | 3x → 5x | $500T → $5.1Qi |
Leaf at $1M is the first permanent multiplier that a growing colony can actually plan for. Bubblegum at $5M is the same conversation, five times the Cash. Candy at $50B is a different era of the food line. If your Sell trips are still funding Egg Luck ranks, you are in the Leaf conversation at most.
Candy is 2x and Rainbow is 2.25x. That is a one-eighth increase in the multiplier (2.25 ÷ 2 = 1.125) for a listed jump from $50B to $100B. Petal then moves you to 3x at $500T, and Starlight to 5x at $5.1Qi. Buy the next row when the extra efficiency on your best ant pays the difference in Sell trips you are willing to run. There is no published payback timer — count your own boxes.
Rarity still matters under the multiplier. A higher-rarity ant is described as the better production base. The potion multiplies that base. It does not promote a starter into a named rare species. Species names stay on ants only when they are confirmed.
Mutation Removal Potion costs $100K and removes the mutation on an ant. That is the only confirmed way to clear one. It does not state that a new potion overwrites the old one, and it does not state that mutations add together. Removal is the safe button when you want the slot empty before you apply something stronger.
$100K is cheap next to Leaf at $1M, and expensive next to a first-hour podium ant. Use it when a mutation you no longer want is sitting on an ant you plan to keep, and you already hold the replacement potion. Skip it when the ant itself is about to be replaced by a better Queen offer — removing a mutation from a worker you will bench is a $100K tip.
| Situation | Removal potion |
|---|---|
| Leaf on a keeper, Bubblegum potion already in hand | Reasonable — clear, then apply |
| Any mutation on an ant you are about to replace | Skip — the ant is leaving the slot |
| Hoping two mutations will add | Do not spend $100K to test a stack theory on a keeper |
| First hour, no potion owned | Skip — $100K still buys Luck, Rolls, or podium time |
| Wrong mutation on your best ant, replacement unaffordable | Wait — removal without a replacement lowers efficiency |
If you own a duplicate you can lose, apply a second cheap potion without removing the first and read the label. One of three things will show: the new mutation replaced the old, both are listed, or the apply was refused. Write down which one happened. Until that test exists, this page treats stacking and overwrite as TBA and recommends removal when you need a clean ant.
The $100K potion deletes the mutation. It does not return the $1M you spent on Leaf, or the $5.1Qi you spent on Starlight. That is why the target section matters more than the removal section. Put the expensive potion on the ant the first time.
Public guides say to spend high-value potions on high-rarity ants. The reason is arithmetic you can do without a drop table: the multiplier scales whatever base that ant already has, and a higher rarity is the confirmed sign of a stronger base. A Starlight potion on the ant you will replace next session multiplies a worker that is about to stop mattering.
Hold three filters before you confirm the apply. The ant is placed and producing. You expect to keep it after the next few Queen offers. The potion price leaves your podium reserve intact. Fail any one of those and the potion waits in the shop. You do not need a species name to run the filter — the rarity label and your own Sell trips are enough. Colony context: ants.
| Ant you have | Potion that fits | Potion that can wait |
|---|---|---|
| Starter Common you will replace | None yet | Every mutation row |
| Best ant you plan to keep, Cash still small | Leaf ($1M) if the reserve survives | Candy and above |
| Best ant, colony already selling fast | Next tier you can buy outright | Starlight until $5.1Qi is surplus |
| Spare you might mount-train | None — training removes the worker either way | All potions |
Mount training submits the ant. Success and failure both take that ant out of food production. The resulting ride is only slightly faster than walking. A mutated keeper is the worst possible training submit: you lose the worker and the potion that was on it. Train an unmutated spare, and only after the colony does not need its boxes.
Normal, Strong, Super, and Prismatic speed jellies raise movement on the equipped ant for 5, 10, or 15 minutes. They do not apply Leaf, Bubblegum, Candy, Rainbow, Petal, or Starlight. Use a jelly when you are about to run a long collect-and-sell lap. Use a mutation potion when you want the multiplier to stay after the timer would have ended.
Stacking is unverified. The notes list one multiplier per mutation name and a removal potion that clears “the” mutation. They never say Leaf and Bubblegum both apply, and they never print a combined formula. Until your client shows two mutation names on one ant at the same time, treat the live state as a single multiplier.
A higher row is better than a lower row as a replacement target: Starlight 5x beats Petal 3x beats Rainbow 2.25x beats Candy 2x beats Bubblegum 1.75x beats Leaf 1.35x. That ranking is only a buying order. It is not evidence that the game overlays automatically, and it is not evidence that the old multiplier lingers underneath. If you need the old one gone, buy the $100K removal potion and then apply the new one.
| Idea | What we will print |
|---|---|
| Two mutations add their multipliers | TBA — do not plan Cash around it |
| A new potion silently overwrites | TBA — test on a spare or remove first |
| Removal clears the current mutation | Confirmed item: Mutation Removal Potion, $100K |
| Potion apply can fail | TBA — no fail rate is published |
| Weather or egg rolls grant mutations | Not in the confirmed notes — potions are the apply path |
| Best permanent target | Starlight 5x, only on an ant you will keep |
When you estimate a Sell trip, multiply that ant’s usual take by one factor: 1.35, 1.75, 2, 2.25, 3, or 5. Leave “other boosts” as a separate line only when you can name them — Food Value upgrades, a timed Cash Boost from codes, a speed jelly that only helps you carry faster. Unnamed bonuses do not get a number on this page.
Potion prices at Candy and above move in billions, trillions, and beyond. A single balance pass can change a suffix. The last pass on these six rows is September 30, 2026. If your shop button disagrees with the table at the top of this page, the button is current and the table needs a revision.
The matching price list, including the four speed jellies that are easy to confuse with potions, stays on items.
Buy the potion you just ranked on items, then put the Cash you did not spend back into Luck, Rolls, and slots on upgrades.
The ant you are mutating still comes from the Queen: eggs. What “high rarity” can mean without a fake species list: ants. A Sell-session boost, when one is listed: codes. Opening loop: beginner guide.
Leaf 1.35x, Bubblegum 1.75x, Candy 2x, Rainbow 2.25x, Petal 3x, Starlight 5x. They are efficiency multipliers applied with Items Shop potions.
Buy the matching potion at the Items Shop in the center of the map, then use it on a specific ant. The purchase is one-time. A potion you have not aimed has not changed the worker.
Unverified. Treat stacking as TBA. Plan for one mutation on the ant. Use the $100K Mutation Removal Potion when you need the current one cleared before you apply another.
It removes the mutation on an ant and costs $100K. It does not refund the original potion. Skip it if you are about to replace the ant anyway.
No. Starlight is $5.1Qi at 5x. Public notes point high potions at high-rarity ants you intend to keep, after the colony economy is already stable.
No. Speed jellies raise equipped-ant movement for 5, 10, or 15 minutes. Mutation potions write Leaf, Bubblegum, Candy, Rainbow, Petal, or Starlight.
Not confirmed. The documented path is a potion applied to an ant you already own. Hatch-time mutation rates are TBA, and this page will not invent one.
